Call 111 and they will do the appointment over the phone or get you an appointment at the hospital rather than sitting in a&e

It's all to deter us- a lot of gp practices are private companies funded by the NHS. They get funding for each patient- to maximise their profits they deter us from using their services. This is why a&e is so busy

Also anyone notice that when you have an appointment to see the dr there is hardly anyone in the waiting area?! Why is it so hard to see the doctor but hardly anyone there? Make it make sense!!

Don’t speak to me about how gps and the nhs are failing us my mum nearly died at the weekend because they failed to help her with her issues she’s had since September she ended up needing life saving surgery on Friday and she’s still on a ventilator now

your answers on the tick boxes are red flag symptoms and will automatically send you to a&e. its not the gp practices fault, they're stuck with what they can offer. and if you truly think you'll be dead in 48 hours without medical attention, you definitely need to go to a&e

Tbh it sounds like what I’ve had for three weeks I was coughing blood you probably don’t even need antibiotics, I didn’t have any and it’s gotten a lot better over a few weeks sadly

And this is another reason why us community nurses are struggling. We are often forgotten about however are slaves for the GP at times because they won’t get off their bums, we can’t actually diagnose, we are nurses ! We can only advise. It’s so frustrating 😭. Hope you feel better soon xxx

I use LIVI they work with the NHS doctors its video call and I can't fault them so far, manage to sort my ADHD referral out and got my bloods booked and done and also got me an abdominal scan for gallstones

As someone else has suggested, call 111. Literal life saver for my Mum who has had bad experiences with GP, for repeat subscriptions keeping her alive. X

This is not something the gps asked for, this is something the government has asked them to do with out actually asking if this is ok, this isn’t something anyone likes. This whole system was built by the nhs English and the health secretary’s. They have cut budgets so gps aren’t paid to see as many people as they used to be.

If you contact your doctors they will give you a list if chemists that can prescribe antibiotics.
