I think @Expatriarch has made a video explaining how Justin’s cut contractually had to score above a certain threshold with test audiences for it to be used over the cut that Blake was working on with Sony… his cut didn’t score highly enough so it ultimately wasn’t used- it’s all in the court documents. Baldoni lied/omitted this and perpetuated the narrative that Blake stole his film when this was never the case… she didn’t even steal his film, her cut was just received better!

And I still maintain that if she stole it and he didn’t get to direct it then he needs to take his name out of the direction credits. He either didn’t have the film stolen and he directed it or she stole it and the director is Blake Lively.

it’s also like, I don’t know anyone who would want to step up and direct a movie last minute bc the director was so incompetent that the team was turning to them to do it. she could easily get a project she directs green-lit. the “she wanted to take it over” narrative is a reach.

She also didn’t ’steal it’. And it was her ending that the Author and audiences liked better so Sony picked it. If he’d been better at his job she wouldn’t have been able to ‘steal’ any part of it. Sony only cared that it was good, they encouraged anything that got them that result. If they didn’t like Blake’s ideas, they wouldn’t have spent money letting her reshoot an alternative ending.
