My ang moh American uncle is from Georgia and he married my Muslim Singaporean aunt back in 1997. He’s the only non-MAGA in his family so he feels the same suffocation that you felt back in NC. It’s also tiring to constantly argue with them about politics, religion, and other things. I’m sure that he’s looking forward retiring and moving to this side of the pond.
