@denisdukeug: This Year, The Bagisu/Bamasaba Will Have Imbalu. A ceremony that initiates boys into Men. But before that there has to Be Kadodi. Kadodi is a traditional Bagisu (Gisu) cultural dance and drumming ceremony from eastern Uganda, especially Mbale, Sironko, and Manafwa districts. It is most famously performed during Imbalu, the male circumcision initiation ritual. Kadodi involves powerful, fast-paced drumming, dancing, singing, and public processions meant to: • Prepare and encourage the initiate emotionally and spiritually • Display bravery, strength, and community pride • Unite clans and families in celebration Kadodi is not just entertainment — it’s a sacred cultural expression of identity, courage, and manhood among the Bagisu people.
