Hi all, I previously posted about my poorly chicken and wanted to just post an update with what treatment route we took as it worked really well and might help someone else! Our rescue hen, henpecked has always been the group straggler but has massively improved in condition since we got her 18 months ago. Three weeks ago she had a strange lump in her throat, a temperature and was doing strange squawking. I realised the lump in her throat was twisted neck from a respiratory infection and treated her with a 5 day course of doxycycline. She started showing sour crop symptoms also so we treated with nystatin also. Once she finished both treatments she’s been getting regular rooster booster for the probiotics and is back to her plucky little self! I think she was quite close to the end (we were debating culling) so really happy she pulled through.
