The Gallery of Modern Art is staying open late with DJs, a vinyl bar, live performers and one of the most talked-about exhibitions in the world. GOMA Friday Nights: Presence runs every Friday from May 1 to June 26 and it’s a completely new way to experience art in Brisbane. THE EXHIBITION 🌞 Walk through the work of Olafur Eliasson, one of contemporary art’s most influential living artists. 🌈 Experience large-scale installations that play with light, colour and perception, including a vast glowing sun and an ethereal rainbow emerging from a shimmering curtain of mist. 🪨 Explore a meticulously constructed riverbed and a captivating SOS signal sent into the darkness. The exhibition comes alive as you move through each space. THE LINEUP 🎵 A moody vinyl listening bar tucked inside the gallery with a different selector on the decks every week. 🎧 Leading Brisbane DJs spinning exhibition-inspired sets inside the River Room Bar. 🕺 Freestyle dancers performing high-energy pop-up performances paying tribute to Eliasson’s breakdancing roots. 🥁 A live percussionist performing between the installations every Friday night.
