@mmesomammeje: Did you know this palace sits right by the ocean in West Africa? It was built between 1898 and 1905 during the German colonial era and later served as the residence of colonial governors and after independence, the Togolese presidency until 1970. After years of limited use and abandonment, it was carefully restored and reopened in 2019 as a major center for African contemporary art, culture and public engagement. Set within an 11-hectare seaside park along the Atlantic Ocean, it is now one of West Africa’s most important cultural institutions and is listed on Togo’s tentative UNESCO World Heritage list. 📍Palais de Lomé, Togo 🇹🇬 #lomé #lométogo #traveltok #travelafrica #traveldiaries
