As you’ll see in this short video, Perry has opted to keep the pickup’s motor as well as the jet turbine! He drives it normally from the pit to the start-up area and then after the run he engages the motor when the jet has wound-down and turned off, and drives back to the pit. The type of jet that Perry uses is a Rolls Royce Viper 535. The vehicle weighs just short of 3 tonnes… so 150+mph in 10.6 seconds is nothing short of jaw-dropping - especially considering what the vehicle is and when it was originally built!
