Have you considered using rubber bands or something that can help with tension, to prevent the rolling?? I don't think the height necessarily is the issue tbh, you need more support for them for sure though. Maybe take inspo from dog muscles? you could also split the base a bit so it spreads just like pawpads for more stability on uneven terrain. That could help!! ^-^

think about snow hiking boot attachments, they are wide to even out weight distribution to prevent sinking, use that logic to make it more stable, if it's wider than the hand itself at the bottom when you close your hand it will be 10x harder to tip! hope this helps I'm excited to see more and better prototypes!!

hear me out a mechanism witha motor and servo where there's two pullies attached to the sides of the hand and upper arm,they make it so you have resistance against your wrist movenets adding stability AND some sort of stopper that clicks when you make sudden movements preventing further any injuries if your arm twists randomly,works something like a seatbelt. I'm not a therian but I would love designing something like this
