@rizutravel: Stop buying luggages in Japan! These bags were around ¥500 = $3 each 🤑 #japantravelhack #luggagesinjapan #tokyotravel #cheapluggage #buyluggagesinjapan
It’s fun and games until you realize each bag weighs 50- 60 lbs and you can’t roll it

So that’s still luggage. Just in a different bag. But still luggage.

Got the extra large duffel bag from don quijote instead of buying an extra luggage and asked the airline to put a fragile tag on it.. 1000% recommend!!

Did this with Amazon moving bags! The hack is you save carrying an empty luggage around and at least 10 pounds vs using a hardshell luggage. Luggage’s eat up the 50 pound limit! It makes a huge difference with more space to pack things in an efficient way!

I can confirm this works. I used it for a full month while traveling through three countries and multiple flights. I only packed clothes and shoes, no valuables, and had zero issues the entire trip.

A suitcase alone sometimes already weigh 5-7 kgs. Ikea bag weigh a feather.

If you want to be assured your tote wont break, go to the wrapping service at the airport for like 500yen per baggage.

You meant you did a lot of shopping and using these bags to check in. And saved the new luggage money.

I used the 300 yen clear tote from Daiso and didn’t double bag anything. I did get the bag wrapped at Yamato counter at the airport just for security bc I didn’t trust the zippers.

I did that in Prague when I went shopping. It was so easy. I have no more space in my house for another suitcase and didn’t want to waste kg on a suitcase

We always pack a suitcase in a suitcase on the way there, plus pack large fold flat carry on sized bags (like eco bags) and bring two backpacks on the plane. Usually end up checking two large suitcases (the ones we brought) plus bringing carry ons as a mix of delicate and heavy items (to keep check in weight down). If we didn't buy a ton, we get away with checking in everything but delicates and plane necessities.

Good idea but this wouldn't survive once it's touchdown in the UK and on its journey from the plane to my hands on the UK side 😅 it would be torn, content damaged or missing. I need that tank of a luggage sadly.

In what country are you not charged for extra bags, even if they are not suitcases? If I come to the counter with an Ikea bag, it will be checked in like any others luggage?!
