I’m confused by your description of meatloaf. Mystery meat? It’s literally ground beef. And the way you call it a “block” is confusing, it’s literally shaped like a loaf. Are you SURE you have actually had meatloaf? 😅

If you don't like meatloaf you've never had good meatloaf. Same with grits. Polenta is similar to grits, if that helps for reference.

I feel like Meatloaf is like the US equivalent to beans on toast, nobody really likes it or would order it at a restaurant or anything you just make it cause it’s easy and “good enough”

Dont judge meatloaf on a school cafeteria version made in bulk. You need to try some good homemade meatloaf. There is a world of difference. Also, there are tons of variations of meatloaf out there. Some great, some just OK, and some just bad.

If you had meatloaf at the school cafeteria, then I’m going to assume you’ve also had grits there. Unfortunately, you can’t judge these by a school’s cafeteria version. Meatloaf is just a large meatball, if you like meatballs there’s no reason for you to hate meatloaf, unless the person that made it can’t cook well. Grits should also be eaten somewhere that has reputable grits (a southern restaurant or in someone’s home). Grits need to be seasoned to taste good (salt, pepper, butter, and cheese is a good combo).

I love grits, but I'm a southern girl. 🙂 Grits is made from dried hominy (kind of like corn). I love it with lots of butter and salt and pepper. Also add cheddar cheese and it's delicious. I think people who don't like grits don't like the consistency.

Meatloaf is only 1 meat. It’s ground beef. It’s basically a hamburger in a different shape. It has egg & crackers to keep the shape & People put spices & onions in it for flavor. In truth I’m not a big fan of it either. I too hate grits. It’s a southern thing. Ppl in the northern states don’t really eat it.
