@jesistracham: Somebody is always going to have something to say about you. If you’re soft, they’ll call you weak. If you’re strong, they’ll call you “too much.” If you cry, you’re “seeking attention.” If you stop crying, you “switched up.” If you evolve, you’re “judgmental.” If you stay the same, you’re “not growing.” You literally cannot win with people who are committed to misunderstanding you. And that’s why I’m choosing to show up as me. Not the version that makes strangers comfortable. Not the version that gets the most “aww I’m so sorry” comments. Not the version that never offends anyone. Because the second you let other people dictate how you speak, what you say, what you believe, how you heal, how you grow… …that’s the second you stop living your life for you and start living it for them. And here’s something people forget: You are allowed to evolve. You are allowed to grieve AND be direct. You are allowed to have compassion AND have standards. You are allowed to be kind AND not tolerate excuses. You are allowed to learn from your past AND not live in it. What I said is simple: Stop judging the entire person based on one clip, one moment, one opinion, one chapter. Because that bias will cost you. It will cost you relationships. It will cost you opportunities. It will cost you the ability to see people clearly. And if that makes someone “feel some type of way”… okay. I’m not here to be everyone’s cup of tea. I’m here to live with integrity, tell the truth, and help people become the strongest version of themselves. If my growth makes you uncomfortable, you don’t need to announce it. You can just… not follow me. Respectfully.
