In CT there is a 48-72h waiting period before cremation is done. Besides the individual was pronounced by an MD or RN prior to release to a Funeral Home.

If you don’t embalm someone before cremating them, how do you make sure a person is dead before you put them in the crematory?

I remember being asked to cremate a cat. (We had special pet retorts.) I almost burned down the crematory. Not the fat amount but because I scraped the bottom of the cremation unit’s floor with a metal rod. Newbie times!
