This scene was why I’m glad they didn’t keep those lines in season 2 that would’ve changed our perception of Perrin’s character. I know a lot of dudes thought that would’ve been a cool twist but in reality it would’ve contradicted the point this scene was making, to know that Perrin was aware of what she was doing all along.

You helped point out what I thought was a plot hole, but now makes sense. ** Spoiler Alert ** after Mon’s speech and fleeing we see Perrin in the back of a luxury car with Skal’s wife. Why was he not implicated in Mon’s “crime”? Because he was friends with the emperor’s chief of staff.

People saying that they should have gone with Perrin secretly being "in on it" and "protecting" Mon. NO. That's the fantasy of privileged cowards - that they can enjoy their fun, happy life and do NOTHING except benefit from the suffering of others, and somehow still be considered a hero in the aftermath. Perrin is who he is. We are literally talking about how many people in real life are like this.
