I just ended my relationship with my avoidant partner. Great person, but not my person. I get that you love them and that they are good person, but why would you continue to subject yourself to the hurt and pain they cause you thinking it will be different the next time around? Don’t believe their words or actions, look at their patterns of behavior over time and ask yourself why you’re settling for that type of behavior from someone who loves and cares for you. The more you self abandon and deprioritize your needs in the relationship, the more years that go by wishing and regretting you would have left sooner.
