I went to a Thai restaurant A LOT and one day my food was insanely spicy, I could not stop my eyes from leaking and the waitress came up and literally said "oh, no. we need to give you white spicy still" um yes please. because my level 5 out of 10 felt like a 100 😅😅

You legitimately can’t find spicy food in America. It’s so frustrating. ONLY places I’ve been where I’ve been properly 👊🏼 with spice is Ghana, Nigeria and Trinidad

Dude one time I ordered from a Thai place under the name of this guy I was seeing at the time bc he'd pay for my door dash and I got VIOLENTLY ill. I learned that day that they had been toning my spice level down 😂 it was delicious and I ate it all and would do it again tho 😂

I had “Thai people spicy” once at a restaurant I would get often, and was proud I could eat it. 30hrs later It came back up and looked completely undigested. My tastebuds said yes, but my digestive tract said nah

once my local falafel place gave me their house-made hot sauce and I put a drop on my food and at it and I was dying in my car my face SOAKED it was horrible

In college I had a friend who was from India and a friend who got sweaty eating garlic Parmesan chicken wings and the Indian friend literally inspired our other friend to start trying to build a spice tolerance after he made him a sandwich once that was delicious but painful to eat cause of the spice 😆

the only spicey food to ever make me cry was a Thai resturant where I got takeout and I got it hotter than I normally would because it was a white curry so it couldn't have been too spicey.... I cried big tears.

So I went to a Thai restaurant in Portland 10 years ago, and the wings were served with a plate of snow-cone ice and special leaves to cut down the spice. There was so much delicious flavor I didn’t mind I couldn’t feel my face and my scalp was tingling. Fast forward to cooking for my now-husband: he thanks me for upping his spice tolerance so he can enjoy ethnic food without toning down the flavor (as much 🤣 he’s still in training LOL)

I like a cute kick of spicy but I feel like to the point of tears just makes the meal inedible to me personally! I’m Caribbean and I love ají & hot sauce mind you but I am always fascinated by how people can tolerate such a high level of capsaicin
