There are plenty of design houses who have made sure they have licensing. If they are professional designers their logo will be at the bottom corner of the canvas. And then you can do a search if you want to verify. Examples: Mary Kathryn Designs has Diet Coke. Jude has Tabasco. Twisted Stitches just got Peanuts. Hedgehog has the licensing for the collegiate tags. The Meredith Collection has several artists like Charley Harper, Melissa Shirley, Vicki Sawyer

It's so complicated. But there is a difference between creating a design of a Ralph’s Coffee Mug or Diet Coke can, and doing a design, like a belt that's meant to look as if it’s from that brand. Think - Andy Warhol Cambell’s Soup piece, vs. A black, green, red stripe canvas with interlocking “Gs” on it. The former is fan art and probably safe. The latter could be seen by the brand as infringement and stopped. Then there is the whole world of Public Domain which is even more complicated.

I think of this OFTEN 😂 I working in licensing for a college for a bit so this is where my brain goes when I see someone on Etsy, for example, selling a cup with Disney stuff on them or a Diet Coke can I’m like 👀 yall better watch out
