Since everyone here is confused (and some of y’all are just making shit up): Michael’s skin is dark here even though it’s clearly Bad era because that’s actually how vitiligo works. If you read Debbie Rowe’s testimony from the 2013 Conrad Murray trial, she explains that Michael’s pigment would come and go. The changes were often seasonal. But some patches that went white never reverted back and his condition (which is autoimmune) worsened over time so he went through the slow process of depigmenting his skin with creams (which is a common treatment for vitiligo) so he could even out the patchiness because he was insecure about his uneven skintone and it was a hassle using make-up to even out his skin because makeup was so bad in those days—especially for dark skin. It’s not the lighting.
