As you’ve finished ep4 - I’ve watched it LOADS and tonight I saw something I haven’t seen mentioned. Shane is at Ilya’s Boston home. Ilya’s father calls confused. Ilya then calls Alexei to berate him for abandoning their father. After Ilya hangs up the call look at Ilya’s hands. He readjusts his cross then does something to regulate his emotions before returning to Shane who is waiting next door. He really wanted to be present for Shane 😢 S1E4 19min40s He repeats the gesture after the interlude with his brother in Moscow in ep5

Re-watch it. You'll see things you didn't see before. It's multi-layered. I'm on iteration 6 and am still spotting new things. The music choices, the lighting, the non-verbals, the intelligent dialogue, pay close attention to the time cards - a lady on here has drawn put the chronology. There's too much to take in in just one pass.
