My daughter cried at midnight because she wanted to go outside… in a snow storm. I got so frustrated I let her walk out the door😂 she took one step and walked right back in, took me straight back to bed 😅😂

My son has autism (he's 22 now) and when he would become overstimulated or distraught and would cry with no end in sight (almost like a record skipping as if he couldn't snap out of it), I would get down to eye level and talk to him in a very low voice assuring him that everything was OK and that I understood why he was upset and offering alternatives (or bribes.. haha). In order to hear me he would have to lower his voice/crying. I would lightly rub the inside of his arm while doing all of this. It calmed him down. Every child is different and will respond to different cues. Find something that they enjoy when not upset.. back rub, arm tickles etc, and positively reinforce several times. Then introduce it when they become upset over small things at first…eventually they will (hopefully) be able to associate the action to a sense of calm and reassurance. This worked for us and might be worth trying.

My mema told me that when a baby or toddler won’t stop crying, take them outside or put them in a warm bath to play. It has NEVER failed me with my two children. A positive change of environment and some loves/playtime from mom is all a child ever needs.

there's no shame in wearing ear plugs. youll still be able to hear your child but it will take the edge off of the auditory over stimulation.

If she isn’t hurt or hungry let that girl cry some she’ll be okay just start break dancing. At least that’s what I do when I’m overstimulated and home alone it resets my brain 😭😭

It’s hard but you’re doing the right thing. Young children do not need to be addicted to electronics. They can have negative impacts on their development. I had to correct this mistake when my kids were younger as well, it happens. It’s hard now but it will help so much in the future. You got this! ❤

It’s okay for them to cry about , I know it sucks. Sometimes I just start up a craft without mine during the fit and she’ll join in eventually

This is how I feel about my kid crying wanting to get in my bed at 3am. I simply don’t want her in my bed and it’s so frustrating bc of course that would be the easy way.

I think you shouldn’t give in (don’t think you do ). Man as long as she’s okay maybe put some headphones off while constantly watching her ? It’s tuff . My baby is starting to get attach to the iPad and tv and lowkey starting to cry . Drives me nuts 🥹

Look up the leapfrog 2 in 1 laptop! My 3yo loves it, he calls it his tablet since his cousins all have tablets and he doesn’t. We even “type” together and practice the letter sounds, he learned 5 new letters within 2 months of getting it.
