Not because I stole, not because I called in sick but because I was too “slow” after I broke my arm… I had a doctors note and everything. The manager was actually with me when I slipped in the freezer and broke it she called the ambulance. I had to use holiday days for time off too. At first they were supportive and I got put on the easy stuff because they said my “health comes first” But then suddenly it got super busy around the holidays. My manager actually told me if I couldn’t keep up with the pace of standard I shouldn’t be on the shop floor. 2 days later I was called in and told that my performance was too low and sacked me. So now it’s time to give you some Tesco secrets from an ex employee Here’s what Tesco don’t want you to know: First the club card is just a scheme to collect marketing data to know what your buying. You don’t even save money you just end up paying more on other groceries in the long run as they put the prices up The secret feedback reward system. Tesco (and other big retailers) hate when you find out about external feedback sites. There is a gate kept site called Tescfeed.com where you can get a £500 Tesco voucher on the club card app just for doing shopping reviews. They don’t want you knowing about it because it’s not through their official channels but they have to have a review system legally. They track your scan speed on the tills and how long it takes you to clear a customer. If your injury slows you down by 5 seconds it gets logged. That’s how they get rid of injured staff without saying it’s due to injury The eye in the sky is real, they don’t just use cameras for shoplifters but send it to private equity for consumer behaviour analysis.
