I had microdisctomy. I couldn’t walk prior. Life saver. Best surgery I had.

My daughter has congenital scoliosis and is in pain, daily. I’d give anything to trade places. CS is just a different beast. 😭

The late Dr John Sarno wrote a book on Healing Back Pain. Many years ago he was featured on the ABC show 20/20 and proved that most back pain is caused by mental stress and worries. You can look it up on utube.

Out of the 23 discs in my back, 21 are damaged. LOTS of pain. Physical therapy has helped me TREMENDOUSLY!!!

Dr. John :
Disagree. Many people including me have successfully got better from surgery. Clearly it depends on risk factors such smoking etc

It’s time for more investment in research on the nervous system and regenerating these to improve the life of millions suffering from these life debilitating conditions.

A spinal fusion helped relieve my spinal stenosis. I still have some soreness and stiffness but I’ll take that any day over the stenosis nerve pain

Truth. Get to a good quality pain clinic. I had terrible back pain 30 yrs after a tumor removal from my lower spine. Back ablation completely 100% stopped all pain. A miracle!!!😭😭😭. My husband has a spinal cord stimulator that gave him his life back. There are other options besides surgery as the good doctor is saying

It worked great for me. I had a herniated disc. I could barely walk after surgery. I am the best shape of my life. I work out every day unless you’re wrong.

Oh boy, do I know it. Having had a laminectomy in 2020. Previous to that surgery, I had a steroid epidural, which lasted for 2 years. After 2 years, it came back as debilitating sciatica, tremendously painful. Another steroid epidural wasn’t as effective as the first. Then came the surgery, which helped only one side.

My pain doc said I need surgery. Bulging disc and stenosis somewhere. I know the disc is L5 S1. Are you saying I have to live like this? That’s lovely news. 😬

I wish it was told that surgery can create new long term pain. My neurosurgeon said he wouldn’t want this on his family strong meds etc. I can hardly stand up and walk now. Failed ADR now fusion. Sucks I’m dealing with the remnants of the first operation.
