You’re missing the point. In a nutshell, overconsumption is having more of something you need; eg. books, makeup, toys, pens. And Booktok is full of it. Digitalisation and the exploitation of companies to their customers is a very different issue, but you’ve labelled it as something completely different.

Overconsumption is a problem when it's single use things and things that expire that you could never conceivably use up. Books do not expire and can be read again and again

It’s overconsumption when people aren’t reading the books they buy, when they buy multiple copies of the same book, when they have trophy books. There is a HUGE overconsumption problem in the book community and it shouldn’t be excused so easily, yall are still hurting our environment

yes library exist but unless you live in a big city most of them have only thrillers or romance that have all the same plot, so if you like something else you have to buy them
