🇨🇦 CARNEY SETS THE COURSE FOR CANADA’S NEXT PARLIAMENTARY SESSION Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed the Liberal caucus in Ottawa ahead of Parliament’s return, laying out his government’s priorities as Canada faces continued pressure from U.S. tariffs and a changing global trade environment. Carney defended the decision to suspend trade negotiations with Washington, saying the U.S. had “offered too little” and “asked too much.” He also announced an additional $7.5 billion in support for workers and businesses affected by tariffs, with targeted assistance for the automotive, forestry, steel and aluminum sectors. The government is also preparing legislation focused on major projects, extending fuel-tax relief and introducing online-safety measures, while continuing efforts to deepen Canada’s economic, trade and defence relationships with Europe. With Parliament returning next week, the focus now shifts from announcements to implementation and Canadians will be watching closely. 🇨🇦 Canada is entering a new parliamentary session with trade, jobs, affordability, security and economic diversification at the centre of the agenda. What do you think should be Parliament’s biggest priority this fall? #MarkCarney #Canada #CanadianPolitics #Ottawa #creatorsearchinsights
