I don’t think anyone is arguing that conditions in Iran aren’t awful. However, the US bombing Iran has nothing to do with liberating the Iranian people. US involvement in the Middle East has never been about what’s in the best interest of the people who live there. Hell, the US government rarely makes decisions that are in the best interest of every day Americans. Also, Iran hasn’t always looked like this. Iran once had a democratically elected leader, and it looked not so different than the US. However, that leader didn’t want to play ball when it came to oil, so the US made a plan to overthrow that leadership. It was successful on the second attempt, and a dictatorship that was more willing to do what the US wanted with oil was installed. The Iranian people are living in the conditions you describe because the US cared more about its oil interests than those people. Trust me, the US doesn’t suddenly care about liberating those same people.
