I so enjoy a parent who parents 2% of the time tell the parent who parents 98% of the time how taking a moment to themselves is awful and that trying to work and take care of a toddler and newborn should be easy peasy. I was starting to come around to Julie but now, not so much.

It is actually really healthy for a child to play alone. They shouldn’t constantly need to be entertained by other people they need to be able to entertain themselves. Not to mention how beneficial it is for the parent to be able to reset and take care of their own well-being.

independent play is actually incredibly important for kids development. 30 min is like, bare minimum. and parents having time to feel like a person instead of a parent is important for kids development too.

At a 10 minute mile pace, which is pretty above average, that’s at least an hour of running that she gets alone to do 6 miles. I gave up my runs when I had my daughter because of how time consuming they were. Ty deserves alone time as well. And to get upset that there are plans on a day off together, when you just went off on your own for over an hour instead of being with your family, I’m pretty upset with her and her priorities.
