@chiassonsmoke: Today was a good reminder that you never stop learning in this industry. Miller came out to our shop and spent time walking us through their handheld laser welders, how they work, and the different applications where they really shine. We got to see the process up close, ask questions, and look at it through the lens of our own production. What we found is that a handheld laser does not replace everything we currently do. It is not a one size fits all solution for our shop. But there are specific areas where we can clearly see the advantages. Cleaner welds in certain situations, less post work, and a different level of precision that could make sense for the right jobs. That is the part that gets us thinking. We truly appreciate Miller taking the time to come out, share their knowledge, and let us see the equipment in action. Opportunities like this help us grow, challenge what we know, and stay open to better ways of doing things. Laser cutting has already changed the game in fabrication. It is clear that laser welding is becoming a bigger part of the conversation across the industry. We are paying attention, learning where it fits, and staying open to new processes that can help us build better products.
