I had pretty A cups to start. I never minded “exquisite miniatures” as Nicole Kidman calls them. BUT…I’m an average-to-small woman with pectus carinatum. Which is rare for women. On my frame, and with naturally small breasts, this dramatically affected my confidence both in how I looked in clothes and my confidence in bed. I waited many years to do anything (I never wanted fake breasts). But over time, I stopped having the confidence to have sex. TMI, but especially on top. My bone, as I call it, was so visible. So at 40 I got implants. I went as small as I could while still providing a “camouflage” effect. Because of the chest wall deformity, we decided on an often avoided implant- teardrop shaped. But for me, I needed the texture to keep them from falling to the side and looking abnormally wide (think of my chest when lying down as a peaked roof, if that helps). I received moderate profile, 235 cc, with internal matrix plus puregraft fat transfer (this was to help fill in the center a bit more, where the deformity is). The fat also helped with a more natural look and feel. My surgeon opted for subfascial placement, which I’d love to hear your opinion of- this placement is often not discussed. 5 years later, I am SO much more confident and happy. People rarely spot my bone unless I point it out (I can still very much see it, but this was never going to be a 100% fix). I love the shape and feel, and I’m happy to say I have a sex life again. All in all, a very unique situation. Short of highly invasive thoracic surgery, this was my best option, and I’m very pleased. Happy to share pics if you’re curious.
