@kadenmackay: I’m writing a song once a month! This one goes to some pretty vulnerable places for me because it addresses one of my greatest fears. Even from when I was little, I’ve always had an innate belief that I would become someone important or “great”, and regardless of whether that belief is due to my narcissistic tendencies or not, it has always subconsciously influenced every expectation I’ve ever had for my future. On the other hand, over time, I have become more and more insecure about my abilities as a songwriter, and I’ve had to face the deeply-rooted fear that everything I believed I would be might have been nothing but wishful thinking. Maybe I won’t be an artist that engages you intellectually. Maybe I’ll always be just a little too dumb. Maybe I’ll always be unremarkable. Nothing terrifies me more.
