waiting tables is tough work ! agree , but so is garbage collection and they don't get tips for taking our waste away .

Most of the restaurants owners and employees of this era have no knowledge and have attitude especially when it comes to TIPS - we live in a time were customers are never right and only see us as a $ signs… BTW You can’t be forced to pay gratuity if you had any service issues.. that’s by law - also most of the restaurants owners keep it for them selves and never give it to the emoloyees(servers) GREEDY WORLD 😏

In Australia a waiter is paid about $36 p/h Min-Fri, no tips unless the customer really got exceptional service then they can, it's not expected. Weekends the same waiter is on $57 or so p/h. The business pays the wages, the waiter shouldn't rely on customers for a wage.

The word “TIP” stands for “To Insure Proper Service”. Nowadays, a tip is just expected. It shouldn’t be that way, it should be earned.

I had a waitress try to be slick add the gratuity to a small party, I went up to the register ask them to remove it and I didn't leave a tip.

It has become norm over time..used yo be only if you r happy w service.. now normalized and taken advantage..I do tip well if im happy w food and service..but nowdays everyone wants a tip.for everything..

back in the 90s I worked as a server in Virginia. we only got paid $2.16 an hour. Waitresses counted on their tips. When we were in season they took that 2.16 and paid your taxes. All you earned were tips

when you order off the menu, is there a gratuity on the menu? I believe it hurts the staff, because now you don't tip, and they look at you, it's right there on the receipt. Gratuity. it don't matter to me, I always tip whether food is good or bad. now if the service is bad, then I leave a insult tip, Haven done that in a while tho😂😂

I always ask and check for gratuity. if they have that on there, I do not tip anything.Extra. if they don't have it on there, of course, I tip really good
