my bookshelves are quite chaotic because they're pretty full, but I love the fact that someone could walk into my home and glance at my bookcases and the artwork on my walls and immediately have an idea of who I am and what my likes and interests are.

Eh idk I work in publishing and I know some major readers and writers who just like the way it looks to arrange their books by style. It doesn’t make sense to me but it doesn’t mean they don’t read and love stories.

i like books. when i was abt 30yo, looking at my bookshelf i thought, im going to write my own books ( not to sell) & put them on my shelf. i wrote a book on stock market, nyc , nature,several prayer books, family books, etc. so yea. lol.

i have too many books for my shelves! I have in fact read them all and have 0 interest in returning them. Fortunately this problem will be solved with MORE SHELVES :)

All my books I read. I have a large collection of Easton books and while have $ value, I found the value of reading them. They are not to look pretty IMO and love my beat up second hand books just as much. The decor around all have meaning to me as well. While I love perusing them.

My 👀 spotted that beautiful green n yellow art deco pitcher/vase before you circled it in red. I collect '40s yellow n green ceramics (many with a deer motif). I love styling shelves, cuz of the challenge. Always looks easier than it is. ☔🌞⛈⛅🌦🌂

In my last book club book, the main character is appalled by finding books turned spine-in so that the bookcases present a solidly neutral beige wall. We were also appalled 😖

I think your home in general should speak to who you are. It should show your personality. I like shopping g at estate sales rather than box stores
