My mom’s home and car were paid off. She retired at 60 and has easily lived on SS. She has a wonderful retirement savings and hasn’t touched it. Had savings between 60 and 62.5.

I just retired age 65 my SS covers my bills a month I have a good amount in my 401 and union pension it’s common sense live within your means.

I encourage any and all that can, retired as soon as possible! Wife and myself both retired at 51....HAVE A FINANCIAL ADVISOR!!!! Everyone's situation is different. Don't be afraid...Talk to someone sooner than later.

I think lots of these numbers are created to create fear and keep people working beyond their healthy years. If given the choice to keep working to keep my current lifestyle or retire to live on the cheap, I will always choose the latter.
