I agree with this except for the 50 page thing. 50 pages isn't enough. If it hasn't grabbed you by page 100, then stop. That's just my opinion of course. Drop it whenever you feel is necessary

I haven’t been able to finish The Catcher in the Rye. Considered an American classic. I found it boring. Probably a great read in 1950 but just not relevant to me in this century.

I agree with this BUT there has been a few series that the first book was slow and I decided to push through, the reward for the rest of the series was SO worth it, I would have missed out on such a journey calling it too soon!

Trueee, I always tell people that with The Name of the Wind, that it takes about 50 pages to get going haha 🤣 AND then it's GREAT 💚✨

I totally agree. I usually give it about 100 pages and if I’m not hooked I move on. There are so many great books I want to read!

I always give it 100 pages, tbh there have been a few books from Book Club that I pushed through beyond 100 pages and glad I did.
