eve online was connected to a ps3 game called eve dust 514 which you played online. apparently the console game was like the grounded mercenary fps combat and the people that played eve online would initiate air support and orbital canons and shit. pretty dope concept.

i remember watching documentary on this game, atp it’s basically a real life simulation but space themed. wars, trading with currency backed by irl money. iirc the biggest battle in game, $400k USD worth of “ships” was lost
