Bows should be facing the audience, not the sky. Tiny heads, mean pony only two fingers back from forehead. Extra ponytail holders, and bow elastic is always on the bottom! Signed a Tiny Cheer Coach 😏

Our rule of thumb is to draw a line straight up from her ears and that’s where the ponytail goes. Flip hair over bow. Take a small section use texturizing spray, we use Amika, and spray by ponytail to mid shaft. DON’T spray on ends or it will be so bad to brush out. We use a comb and go from mid section and push down. Take comb out and repeat to desired amount of tease. By only pushing hair down it makes it easier to brush out. Repeat with all the sections of hair leaving out a small piece of the top to smooth over and ride the tease. Hairspray and you’re done! To brush out always start with the bottom section and at the end of the section working your way to the ponytail holder! Sincerely a senior year mama who teases all the girls hair. Ps there is no “push up” on her hair in the picture 🤣

Hii!!! My daugther has her first competition last weekend. I had her flip her little hesd and brushed the hair and put it up thag way. My rule was always thumb on forehead and wherever your pointer fingers ends is where the pony should be! We also do Smokey eyes or natural makeup looks. We decided to do the natural as the Smokey was a bit hard for me lol! Either way she loved getting her hair done and little bit of glitter on her eyes! Second competition tomorrow!

For my daughter she has thinner hair so I would put 2 ties the the bow than another 2 ties keeps the bow standing also! Also take a thin layer of hair at the top of the pony put to the side tease under with texture spray and put the thin layer nice and smooth over it. My daughter no longer cheers and I miss it so much you’re about to make so many memories!

I use a Hairpiece its so much easier my daughter is 8 years old and im done within 30 min and I use a zip tie for the bow it holds it in place

I’m just here to agree with everyone else lol I always used to do two hair ties then the bow and then another hair tie to secure the bow. We got a cheap hair piece from a store in downtown(ish) Canton for this season and it’s been a literal life saver. It cut our getting ready time in half! Also, don’t stress your first season. There’s always gonna be things that go wrong and you just learn from them as you go. I swear Allstar is nothing but trial and error on everything 😂

Bring her bow up to 2 fingers from her forehead and gel the shorter layers to Jesus. You need a teasing brush both for slick backs and for height. She will be excited back stage and her coaches will be sure she’s not scared. Put your phone down and show her your face from VIP. She will be great

Make the pony so high she looks like she’s a unicorn. It will feel so unnatural. But trust the process. Use pins to pin the bow in place. It should face forward and not towards the sky. You got this. And good luck!

My daughter is on world elites darlings for the first time this year. I use a zip tie and a hair doughnut around the pony tail after I get the bow on to get initial lift so I don’t have to tease her hair as much. We use hair wax to get the baby hairs down and instant freeze hair spray by ausie to hold it all in place. You did a good job for a fist time though! 😊

Tease in sections with texture spray and a teasing comb. Then spray with hairspray to finish. Also, pin the bow down with Bobby pins so it stays in place and bring the pony up a little higher!

Take your hand, put up 4 fingers (with fingers together) put your pinky at her hair line and where your index finger lands is where her pony tail should go! If that made any sense it’s the perfect way to make sure it’s high enough that the bow sits just right! Silicone dust is the best product to tease hair with and you’re doing an amazing job ✨👏

GO ON AMAZON AND GET A POSH PONY!!! You can get them for cheap and still get good quality! the constant teasing and harsh hair products do horribly long term on your hair. they save time and your head!

I think everyone mentioned it. Have her pony closest to her forehead (2-3 fingers) and put a few pony rial holders in to make her pony really high. That way it will allow her bow to stand up. Enjoy her season! Let me know if you have more questions. Happy to answer any!

You’re doing a great job!! If you want her ponytail to be higher, put in more hair ties. 😃 with my daughter, I put 3 hair ties in her hair, then the bow. I also love to use the Garnier Frizz Tamer to keep those fly aways down. Another cheer mom showed me that last year. (My daughter is bottom row, second on the left)
