@lauraclery: Proprioceptive seeking and vestibular sensory seeking king #autismawareness Vestibular seeking = craving movement, balance, height, spinning, climbing • Proprioceptive seeking = craving deep body input, pressure, knowing where the body is in space Standing on high or unstable surfaces gives intense sensory feedback: “Where is my body? Am I balanced? Am I safe?” For many autistic kids, that sensation is calming, organizing, or regulating, even though it looks terrifying to us

WAIT, is holding their faces to the wall an autistic thing? My oldest is autistic and he keeps putting his ears on the wall because he says they are “to hot”

my one sister used to elope to the tree in our backyard. to this day do not know how she climbed as high as she did... eventually we'd see her perched impossibly high... crocheting. like wild windblown hair, child in a meadow with faeries kinda dress usually, and her bag of yarn and hooks. then shed stare down at you with big haunting eyes like a Victorian ghost child and just not say a word.
... so stool balanced on chair hiding behind the wall to watch TV tracks.
