I don’t think that they understand the REALLY BIG shift in our economy from when they came and now. Everything was so much cheaper and affordable back then. Our generation are working 2-3 jobs and still can’t afford to move out. It’s actually sad. I understand where you’re coming from my love. 💖

I grew up in the same household with helicopter parents. Very studious and took a long time to land that first job and I worked 2 jobs under undergrad. I took out student loans as well since my parents couldn't afford to pay for both my brother and I (2 tuitions)… they took care of our car insurances. Once you land that job and are able to financially take care of yourself - MOVE OUT. I did. And I barely called and visit. Only major holidays and celebrations for 5-10 yes after… and then they realized that they were hard on me since I rarely visit. Wishing the best for you, girly. It's discouraging right now, but once you are financially independent and on your own… it will be better! You'll be able to breathe! Please get mental

ok first props to getting into ucla for chemical engineering. Second if you did stick to chemical engineering and u did get a job. You would have hated your job and you would have never been happy. And I don’t know much but I feel like getting a job in today’s market, it is connections. Having connections is your biggest tool. But I wish u all the best luck to get a job :) 🫶

They work hard and pay for your education just to see you successful. Parties and life are important, but discipline matters too. Trust me, The only people who truly want to see you do better than themselves are your parents. your parents aren’t your enemies.
