Oh shit, the giving tree, i LOVED that book in my 20’s; I resonated with the tree. The first time I started to read that to my daughters, I closed it and gave it away. That tree let that guy walk all over her. He gave her nothing but silence and moments of need, and she gave him everything. How am I supposed to teach my girls how to pick good partners if I read that kind of stuff to them?
