@travellingnurse_: I get that I am making generalised statements but this is for the sake of argument. Of course not all black Caribbean men date outside of their race. I am speaking to the ones that date outside, what are some of the reasons? #debate #carribean #carribbeantiktok #relateable
Unfortunately , they don't want us when we are trying to climb , they want us at the top of the mountain , not to build pr to get on the mountain together , and then you want the entire mountain for yourself. Hello

This topic really hits a nerve for me and I wish it was talked about more.
I grew up in a mostly white area of Surrey and there were no Black girls at my school or in my social circles. So naturally, I mostly dated white women and I’m now happily married to a white woman, which I always expected based on my environment.
But when I see how many Black men exclusively choose white women, it does make me cringe and feel a bit sad, even though I know it can be real love.
We call it “preference”, but a lot of that is shaped by society, status, and sometimes fetishism.
I’m not confused about my own situation. I honestly believe I could’ve made more effort to connect with Black women, and that’s on me.
But what I don’t understand is Black men who grow up around Black women and still completely rule them out.
And I also think men like me need to be more honest and own that we should’ve tried harder, and challenged the cultural stereotypes that unconsciously shaped our choices.

They are our preference. But there is a saying, “don’t chase after those who don’t want you. Instead accept the ones who do”.

In many Caribbean families and communities, children are raised to show strong respect to elders and to women, often calling women “Auntie,” whether they’re related or not. That builds a mindset where women in your community are seen almost as family or protected figures, not people you think of romantically.
So when you grow up with that conditioning, it can feel strange or even uncomfortable later trying to see women from the same background in a romantic or sexual way. Some men then find it easier to date outside that group because they don’t have that same mental association of family/respect.
It doesn’t mean you don’t respect Black women — in fact, it often comes from respect being strongly taught. It’s more about how early upbringing shapes attraction and comfort.
As people get older, many start separating those ideas: you can respect women deeply and still see them as potential partners. As older man now if I was to split up with my wife I would find a black girl friend

Watch the videos of these caribbean women.
They raised these men you seek to put down. It starts from seeing the mothers lifestyle.
