Completely agree with this. But add to it the fact that we’re told we have to be on social media in order to promote our own art, be it paintings, novels, music or stand up. And where is all the time coming from?

Hmm, why do you think people need to be creating art if they’re enjoying consuming existing pieces? Surely this is what every artist seeks, to create work that people engage with.
