I check mine once a year and have never had to clean it. So either the fact I clean my lint trap before every dryer cycle is working or this is a scam.

if you have a shop vac and it comes with the thin attachment it fits in that space. you don't need this hose.

I have a similar one. It works great. I never really had much in my old dryer but my two year old dryer has a lot get past it. It’s very frustrating.

Once a month is not nearly enough it depends on how much you find in there after each load and it depends on if you want the house or want to commit insurance fraud
