it gets even weirder when you realize you know exactly how anything will feel... on your tongue. you look at an object, a texture, and imagine how it would feel to lick it. you can basically feel it without doing it.

I'm a cnc engineer and this is absolutely true when I have to move a size when machining a part I can tell the difference down to 10 microns.

interestingly, only when we move the two surfaces against each other. If both are perfectly still, we barely feel anything. It's the running across the ridges of the fingerprints that makes all the difference.
