elderly movement is something heavily emphasised in east asia, and i think it reflects well in their life expectancies. the social element of exercise is important too.

Try and walk every day, get up every hour and move around and get a good long walk in at the weekend.

When the body is working its very hard to see that it could ever stop working but trust us that know, if you are able to, move.

you're an inspiration. I took up running at 49 and within months I was up to 10k. Then I entered a 10k which was so gruelling (hills) it put me off. Now I'm 53 working from home and practically inactive 🥺. I'm going to put my trainers on later and just go around the block.

Agree! Getting an allotment is my way to approach this. My Mum walked miles every day until she was 87 and then having to stay in because of the pandemic killed her. She felt so trapped.

Start by walking, join a walking group, go to Parkrun and walk it. Then start Jeffing-a little steady running in between the walking, then join a social running group.
