Architecture is a barometer of development, and prior to European colonisation much of Africa consisted of dispersed rural settlements built from mud and thatch, surrounded by forest. The post-colonial experiment of vast, artificial states has failed. A more viable path forward would be the reorganisation of the continent into smaller, ethnically coherent states, not unlike the model that underpins much of Europe, where political borders more closely reflect social and cultural realities.

the mud huts and other buildings made of clay are actually super eco friendly and i wish more places would try and use structures that didn't retain heat like concrete and such, creating heatdomes that severely impact the enviorment
