My ER nurse friend was getting so much shit from her male coworkers about pumping she was trying to combine her lunch break with a pump break and was feeling so rushed she choked on her food and had to be intubated and sent to ICU

Happened to me day 2 after maternity leave at a DAYCARE!! She also suggested I pump in the bathroom. Also said she can’t just stop what she’s doing to find someone to cover for me. Emailed hr & she was fired within a week.

EVERY WORKING MOTHER: look up the pump act. Print it out. Laminate it. Post it on the door of your office/room/pumping space. Hand it to your manager. Email it in a mass email if you have to & KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

My first corporate job made such a big deal about my coworker pumping… the second corporate job I had actually had a room dedicated to pumping mothers 🥺 it had a cozy chair and lighting and a sink
