Did you know that if you accidentally touch your eye after touching a scopolamine patch your vision will get weird, and your pupil will dilate. And then when you look in the mirror at your one normal eye, and your other crazy eye, you’ll think you’re having a post-surgical stroke and freak out?

I wanna add that lamotrigine and topiramate also decreases the effectiveness of birth control - sincerely, a pharmacist that has heard a decent amount of patients don’t get counseled on this 😅 (including my gyno)

my Grandfather, William Barnett, patented heparin! he would go to the butcher for porcine (pig) hearts to help him figure it out. he had a PhD in biochemistry from a Columbia. he worked at 3M during his heparin research and soon after his discovery, he started showing symptoms of schizophrenia and was soon homeless for almost 13 years. he wrote more sonnets than Shakespeare by the time he passed away just a few years ago. this video was amazing to see.

You can ask your dementia patients to help you fold wash cloths to keep them occupied if they like pulling at lines or just need something to keep them busy.
