@bluetsunami2026: CHESS: The Musical This is one of those shows that must be experienced live, my sloppy recordings can't do it justice. The show’s relevance right now is honestly a little unhinged… and a little terrifying.  I loved every inch of it: from the the parade of fantastic songs, to the sharp, satirical writing that keeps the tension humming, to a score that is stacked, and a minimalist staging that smartly keeps the focus where it belongs: on the performances where the real gag is that Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele, and Nicholas Christopher could each sell this show solo. Everything else is pure bonus...and that is a huge bonus with Hannah Cruz as Svetlana, and Bruce Pinkham as The Arbiter as they are  stupendous! This was my second viewing, and the impact only deepened. A major Broadway hit, skip the cosmetic upkeep and invest in this instead. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This stunning number "Pity the Child" is Freddie's gut wrenching song of how his neglected, traumatic childhood created his aggressive, cynical, and narcissistic adult personality. It highlights his transition from an abandoned, lonely child to a ruthless chess prodigy who uses the game as his only defense and escape.  FDT HARD 💙 #broadwaymusicals #slimetutorial #leamichele #broadway #broadwayisback   @leamichele  @Audra Mcdonald @Gavin Newsom  @Zohran Mamdani @Jasmine Crockett @Idina Menzel @colbertlateshow @Julie Benko @Pete Buttigieg @Cynthia Erivo @Lady Gagita
