@allieesarasmith: I thought I'd pull together how my garden has come together since we bought the house in the summer of 2023. I think sometimes online because we see a lot of end results, it's hard to imagine what the process looked like. And in turn it can sometimes feel disheartening when you're still slogging through it. I'd like to preface with saying, at no point did we have the money to create a garden all at once, but I'm also glad we didn't. If l had created the entire garden in one go, back when I first moved here - firstly, it wouldn't be exactly what I wanted today (oh how we learn and grow 😅) And secondly, I wouldn't have learnt as much as I did. I'm a really big believer in things taking time, doing things in stages, tweaking your overall plan because you can accept that there's usually a better way to do things! But there's also the fact that it is a joy to grow things from seed, or taking cuttings to build up your plants. So wherever you are on your garden journey, just know that the real joy is the process of creating it 🥹🫶 #beginnergardener #newbuildgarden #gardentransformation

Is that the neighbors garage in your yard? I’ve never seen that before.

Gardens are not instant spaces is something I have to tell myself (and my budget) more often

Needed to see this, as every influencer makes you think that having everything done in one go is normal ❤️

I love how you've got the little plant border next to the barked veg patch! we're thinking of barking our veg area so I might have to do a cute plant border next to it too!

I love this! I’ve been working on my garden since 2022 and this year I’m planning to dig out a lot of grass from the border of my fence to plant some flowers! 🥰 So excited!!

the trough!!! did you drill drainage holes/add a drainage layer? feeling like putting one behind my outdoor couch might be a fun move to enclose the area like a room

Yes to keeping areas of the lawn longer! It’s soooo good for insects and other wildlife, credit to you both for such a wonderful garden for you and nature 🌷💚
