@thelifeofthezigsdiy: How to change your brake pads in 90 seconds... Yes, this is my wife's car, and yes I am not an auto mechanic. I just like to save money when I can! Link to the products I used for this is in my bio on my Amazon store front! #diy #automobile #maintenance
not the commenters thinking we can all afford to replace the rotors every time we replace the pads lmao

Never, ever, under any circumstance, do you do a pad slap. Always always always resurface rotors or buy new ones. Your new pads will thank you. 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

ranger_danger4.0 :
It’s strongly recommended to not pad slap. The rotors may look fine but any small (guaranteed) imperfects will cause odd wear patterns on your new pads. At the very least, get the rotors resurfaced

I hate car videos these days because the comments are always filled with tiktok mechanics that just figured out the words “misfire”, “padslap”, and “head gasket” mean lol

When installing new pads or pads and rotors, make sure to mate them after installing. Drive at 50mph and brake down to 10mph and repeat this 5-10 times so they can mate properly

My piston has to be turned, whyyyyy?! Lol I think it’s a special tool. I’m not gonna worry about it till I need brakes again which I’m hoping is at least another year or two. 😂

Your slide pins are seizing that’s why on pad was worn more than the other

For jacking up use pinch welds on cars and the frame on trucks

You did nothing wrong but I would replace the rotor for better wear on the new pads

The ebrake comment hurt my head, they lock the back tires and wouldn’t be able to do a proper brake job because you wouldn’t be able to change out the rear rotors
