Many don't know this, but when Jung visited India to meet Ramana Maharshi because he had heard in his presence he will "know himself" Jung was so afraid that was not brave enough to meet him once there, this resulted in Jung speaking bad about eastern practices like yoga ever since, not out of knowledge but to somehow excuse his cowardice

It’s true. It’s called avoidance: avoidance of self, avoidance of emotions, avoidance of discomfort, avoidance of waiting, and avoidance of processing. A chronic dysregulated body and mind seeks instant relief through validations, dopamine hits, addictions/impulsivities/maladaptive or destructive coping mechanisms, and ego boosts. That’s why it’s important to learn to regulate yourself emotionally and somatically.

I read all his works in a manic episode, decades ago, I was a Jung fanatic....now I disagree with some of it...he was a pure introvert...a Hades archetype...we went a little crazy in the end with magical thinking
